This course is designed to empower individuals in the Social Resilience and Inclusion; Citizen Safety and Security and Rule of Law; Climate Change Resilience; and Sustainable Natural Resource Management field, , equipping them with enhanced communication abilities to effectively engage with Deaf or Hard of Hearing clients encountered in their professional interactions.

It seeks to equip participants with knowledge and competences at a basic level to support the engagement in basic communication with Deaf in Jamaican Sign Language. It will provide exposure to basic Deaf Culture and Jamaican Sign Language. This module is also expected to serve as a catalyst for promoting the sensitization of Deaf culture, community, and history.
